What is your favorite decade of your life?

Even though I was prodromal for half of it, the nineties were my favorite decade of my life growing up…I love my life now though too…so it’s tied.

I’ve only lived 3, I don’t have much to chose from. If I had to say, first one was healthiest therefore happiest

The 90’s. I got clean in 1990, got a job and went to college. I had a friend and we did all kinds of fun stuff; we would go to the movies or go to Tower Records and buy cassettes and concert videos.

My friend came with me to AA, CA and NA meetings and we made friends at the meetings and did some program activities like barbecues and dances. The local church sponsored a day program and they used to hold dances every other Friday night and we would go to the dances.

I lived in a board & care home from 1990-95 while I was doing all this stuff and then I moved out when my sister had a spare room in her duplex and I lived with her and my nephews for three years. Then she asked me to move out and I found a room in this 50 year old guys house and lived there 3 1/2 years.

During that time period I went to about a 1000 AA, CA and NA meetings and even got into service and became group representative. When I lived at the board & care I was visiting my family on weekends and doing stuff with them like birthday parties and barbecues and we used to go play volleyball at this court behind this bar; that ws real fun for a few months.

In 1993 I got a job at Sears unloading trucks and within four months me and this other guy were the best workers on our 7 man crew. I was also doing a little side work at this start-up company my brother-in-law worked at. if you remember, the mid nineties was an economic boom in the U.S. especially here in Silicon Valley and new millionaires were being made even week from the electronic tech business.

Yeah, those were the days, when I was really out there living my life and I even did some traveling with my dad; we flew across the country a few times. In 1999 I got a job as a park ranger, that was pretty neat, I worked there two years. It’s been a slow, almost imperceptible decline since the 90’s for me and now I hardly socialize or do anything.

I have two !

Early 80s and Early 90s.

I can’t really decide between the two.

I liked my late thirties when I had a small kid, she was awesome. I do miss that. I’m also enjoying myself now. I think it’s important to be grateful for what I have now.

The 90s were awesome. My favourite decade though was during my 30s 2010 - 2020. Maybe only because it’s fresher in my memory. Dunno.
