What is your best experience while being medicated

Zoloft gave me OAB (overactive bladder), or at least triggered it. I’ve been off it for years and still struggle with it. It was horrific while on it, I literally couldn’t sleep because of how badly I needed to go, but nothing would come out because there was nothing in there. It just shot my nerves to hell. Serotonin is also used for bladder contractions so SSRI’s as a very rare side effect can cause this. I am very sad about this as it was an amazing med but the damage it caused was horrible. Again this is very rare so don’t worry about it unless you start realizing you have to pee a lot more than normal if so then please stop as soon as you can.

Risperidone gave me hyperprolactenemia. I only found out because I started lactating (gross). Prescriber took me off right away said it greatly increased my risk for breast cancer if I stayed on. This is not uncommon with Risperidone so it’s recommended you get blood tests regularly if on this med which I was not getting because I don’t think my old prescriber was very good or knowledgeable in meds. (She was an NP not a doc and often looked up meds on her phone-that should’ve been a red flag to me, oh well). It also made me gain a hefty amount of weight & I have not been able to get back to my pre-Risperidone weight years later.

Sounds aweful I hope I don’t get that with the meds.

Sleeping… and hiding in my room. Unfortunately I can’t live like that.
