I went down to the shop and bought ingredients for tonight’s dinner which is vegetarian paella. I’m using black beans and kidney beans instead of meat.
I also picked up a prescription for Mr Turtle.
@MeghillaGorilla1 it’s Australia Day here at home. Ads push us to eat lamb on Australia Day but I’m going against the grain this year. We are told to have BBQ’s with all our friends but I don’t really have any down here. Traditionally people put little Australian flags on their cars, paint their faces and get really drunk. I’m doing none of that, I never have.
There is controversy around the day, a lot of people call it invasion day because it celebrates the federation of Australia by white people and we have a very sordid past of “dealing with” indigenous people, we still mistreat them.
There’s a major gap in education and health between white and black people in this country. It’s unfair and unjust and there’s an organisation called Close the Gap that I support that work to do just that and support indigenous youth to become fully qualified and employed.

Tried to get some homework done, then started feeling psychotic around 4pm and dropped everything. Hopefully I can do two days work tomorrow. Scaling back the time I take medication at hasn’t seemed to work in preventing the relapses.

I’m Australian, I’m caucasian.
My mother is doing our family history at the moment and my great great grandfather was chinese, my great grandmother was german and the rest are all from the UK.

Well, I did some volunteering today. My peer support group went to a warehouse to help package clothing and shoes for those people who lost everything during the tornado here in South Georgia. When I got home today, I had a double cheeseburger with fries, apple juice and water.

I feel like my communication today was more open than usual. It was a relief. And I wasn’t sure how I’d find the energy to do the dishes, but I did it earlier than I thought I would.
