I have been buying Ezekiel Bread lately. Lot’s of fiber, protein and nutrients. I’ve been putting peanut butter on it. Somedays the peanut butter might get me for about 800 calories. Are there any good alternatives to that. I was thinking butter, but there’s probably a lot of bad stuff in it.
Not sure what I should do.

I always put real butter on my 15 grain toast. And sometimes, I add grape jelly. Yum.

the calories in butter are similar to peanut butter, but I guess you don’t use as much in the straight up butter.
I use one tablespoon of real butter. That’s about 100 calories. Peanut butter has 95 calories per one tablespoon.

I might try it. I’d probably overdo it.

I think I’ve heard of sugar free jelly before. Might look for that.

Marmite of course! Or a low salt yeast extract alternative in my case… ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/wink.png?v=9)

There’s a quote from the bible on the package of Ezekiel bread. It’s sprouted bread which has been around for forever. It also has flaxseed.

I’ve always wondered what Marmite or Vegemite tasted like.

it tastes meaty, savoury, filled with umami. It is both bitter and sweet and you’ll either love it or hate it! as the maxim goes. ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/smiley.png?v=9)
spread it thinly though it is pungent!
