Shmookitty’s full name was Miss Mickey the Shmoo.

I was supposed to be getting a black Persian, and planned to name him Mikey after the kid in the Life cereal ads.

Then I saw her…she changed my life and kept me alive for a long time.

My cat in my teen years was Sneakers. I kept his shelter name, as he was an adult cat.

Rescued Garret and Mondo when we lived in western Canada. Both already had names we kept.

Mondo was a huge 24 pound Maine Coon mix. Not fat at all, but his breed is big. Sweetest and most gentle cat I’ve ever had the privilege of rescuing.

I have two cats Rusty who is orange and white, and Marite who is a brown tabby cat. We got them as kittens and they were a bonded pair so luckily we adopted both of them.

my beloved cat was named Ninni but everybody called her Pöre and Pörri (I would translate Pörri as “Fluffy”, and Pöre is pretty much just a shorter version of Pörri)

my next cat, that I will have later in life, will be called Lilith Venla Pörhöinen.

I had Ninni for 17 years and she was my very best friend in this world. she died on october 2022.
I still have not got over her death
it was very, very hard for me.

My sisters convinced me to call my cat Milo. I never, ever liked that name.

I had a dog as a kid and teen. I called him Sam. After sam gamgee from lord of the rings. I was obsessed with those movies as a kid. I had it in my head that the vibe was like i was frodo and he was Sam my sidekick through anything. Weirdly one day i came home from school and my mum just said hes gone. And i never saw him again. I assumed she put him down since she felt i didnt spend enough time with him as a teen. I didnt know how to react at the time. But i felt very down about it a while later.

I also used to have a cat named shadow…all black…saved it’s life one time because it got scared and ran in the utility closet…I didn’t know for about a minute but I called him and heard this awful groan…opened up the utility doors and he had gotten himself squished between a pipe on the wall and the hot water tank!! I grabbed him by the tail and pulled him out and he just ran off…shew almost forgot about that.
