I named two of our cats, Tinker Bell and Duchess after Disney Characters. We have a cat named Peeko after a Pokemon character. My son came up with that. Also, our dog is named Marley from the movie Marley and Me. The dog’s name was my daughter’s idea.

I have a cat called Binx. One of my friends had this name for their cat but it died. So i took it.
I also have a lovebird called Minty. He was completely green when i got home, mint green so easy to see where he gets his name from.
Our daughter has a thing for Greek mythology and it is reflected in our pet naming.

I read an article that claimed Shih Tsu’s are the closest dogs to wolves by DNA. I thought it was so funny I named my little 10 pound Shih Tsu Wolfie.
I look at them and go “hmmmmm” then a name pops up.
Then I think of a mexican sounding version of that name 
Like my hammy is : Little Bear and his mexican name is Bahesos 
I can’t share my pet’s name because I use it as a security question to verify it’s really me at the bank. I don’t have a pet anymore anyway. My last one died five or six years ago.
One of my hams we got his name was already garbanzo bean. So we called him beano
Then his nickname became the benarian and bohesos 
I went to the Humane Society to get a cat. I found her. Her name was Jessica. I don’t care for human names for pets so I immediately changed her name to what I was calling her, which was Sweetie because she had the sweetest little personality. Well, then we got home and she realized that she could let her real personality out and she was no longer Sweetie and since I really don’t approve of naming animals swear words or naming them after demonic creatures I started calling her Kitty Kins. It stuck.
I have a shorthair dwarf cat named Bella. My bf didn’t like names I came up with so he said he liked Bella. My snowshoe cat Nico is twelve now. I thought he was a female when I got him. Then as he aged I lol realized he was a male. So I named him Nico.
Our first hamster ever where I currently live was called Julia, after my best friend in Germany.

I named my old snake Max, cuz I thought it sounded cool. I named my old pug Pegasus from the mythological creature. I named my cat The Witch King of Angmar from Lord of the Rings.
My mom came up with dogs name. It sounded good, so we went with it.
We had a dog named Honey because of her honey color. I like Minty and Binx.
