ive been reading into kratom lately even tho it is mainly used for people to get off opioids there are also alot who say its really good for depression and anxiety and works quickly for it unlike most meds that take like 6 weeks before you know if its helping or not.
i know its probably not optimal to use something that can be potentially addicting or cause dependence but i feel like if it helps it may be worth the risks
I’m also not doing good, lie in bed all day don’t brush hai or wash clothes. Can’t function. Yesterday I felt terrible after going for bike ride and finding how unfit I am. Desperate for answer.
What about non SSRIs like Effexor which is a SNRI or Wellbutrin which is in a completely different class. Wellbutrin works very well for me when no seriously worked for me.
Yes @anon57786250, opioids are important in the body, some antidepressants like Mirtazapine affect in small degree the opioid receptors, and i have read there is a drug in the pipeline that use the antidepressant effect without getting addicted,
I don’t think you can avoid the addiction
@cigarino there are a lot other antidepressant than SSRI and SNRI. Isocarboxide works partly in my case. I don’t think Kratom is a good choice, but i don’t know that much about it.
Here is a long discussion featuring one of the lead researchers into alternate treatments for depression. I’m currently doing one of his recommendations, dietary fasting, and my energy and sex drive are up a bit as a result.
Increase fruit and veggie intake as well as check your vitamin levels. It is very common to have deficiency of vitamin d, even if you are out every day. My doctor ordered a vitamin d supplement to take once a week. It really did improve my mood. In no way am I saying you shouldn’t take medications, but you should get your vitamin levels checked, as well.
