Yes…I OD’d on 50,000 mg of acetaminophen. They flew me on a medevac jet to Seattle from the Alaskan Interior and I was in the ICU for 2 weeks as my liver failed, they thought I’d need a transplant. I recovered with treatment, which is good, cuz they told me in Seattle that they wouldn’t have given me a transplant since it was a suicide attempt. I was VERY lucky to survive, and I haven’t had an attempt since then. I also never use Tylenol.

Yeah, the school had a pool party I went to the deep side of the pool I don’t even remember how. I can’t swim, I could have drowned, one of my classmates ended up saving me though.

Was shot at by a machine gun, a tracer round missed my head by inches.

Yes. Now.

I have issues that have made me a stroke and heart attack risk. I could have either at any time. Yay!

Welcome to the club. Fun, isn’t it? I stopped driving a school bus out of fear of getting hit while behind the wheel. If I go, I go. Would prefer not to take a bunch of kids with me.

Yes… very close to death

In my 20s I had appendicitis but didn’t know until my appendix burst.

I had to have emergency surgery

The doctors said that I was very close to having sepsis and dying.

I was very lucky

I am in active stroke risk phase. I had a TIA 2 weeks ago (mini stroke). A week later heart palpitations and chest pressure.

I literally can have either any time. It isn’t a “could one day” from high blood pressure and cholesterol.

I hit a concrete culvert and flipped a convertible. This was in the mid eighties. Didn’t even have seatbelts installed in the vehicle.

I always have one now.

Escaped with a concussion and a broken jaw.

Aspirin. If it doesn’t help, we move to shots.

That happened to me when I was 18, I still have the scar from the surgery. I forget about the fact that it was a life or death situation.

Um, whut? That’s like throwing a pebble into a pothole to fill it.

I guess they try that first.

Yes. I had cancer when I was in my teens. It was rather advanced when they found it (lymphoma) but I survived. Four surgeries, 9 months of chemo 6 weeks of daily radiation. Super fun. It was weird – I had been suicidal before that, and I had to humor everyone and make like I was determined to survive.
