@LilyoftheValley We are very, very fortunate to be in a low crime area. Mostly, we get druggies. In the 13 years I’ve lived in my community, we’ve only had one serious theft, and it was the homeowner’s ex who did it.
Their produce sucks, too. I think that is a universal Walmart thing.

@Bowens I think Weight Watchers is our best performing stock rn. We bought that stuff nice and low. It’s not much per stock, but it’s something! Also, we picked some medical groups in trial phases of new meds. Those are more hit or miss, but fingers crossed.

I go to a small Carrefour supermarket in the city. It’s just a 5 min walk and I am lazy.
I could go to Aldi as it’s cheaper but that’s at least a half hour walk (and I don’t drive anymore).
Surprise surprise. I’ve never been in a Walmart. We don’t have them in Europe and in my stints in Singapore and NYC there weren’t any around (as far as I remember).

Okay, but have you been to peopleofwalmart.com ? I don’t even know if that site is operational anymore, but I’ll never forget the video of the elderly person shaking a poo out of their pants as they walked and just going on like they didn’t drop a deuce mid-aisle.

Horrific story.
I’ve also heard stories of staff wearing diapers because they can’t get toilet breaks. Is that true?
I lived in the US in the early noughties and Walmart was an experience for sure. Just like everything in one store but America was over the top for everything to me back then. Petsmart and other mega stores…back then we really didn’t have many retail spaces to compare.
Really was an eye opener but these days we’ve caught up a bit in retail and although we don’t have walmart we do have Costco moving in. Still. A shop where you could buy your groceries and your guns was an interesting place.

No clue whether that’s true or not. I wouldn’t be surprised. The worst one about restroom breaks is supposed to be Amazon, if rumors have a modicum of truth. It’s just abhorrent, all of it.

They either have a post where they stand and watch people it walk around the area and look for criminal activity
Although the prices are great, I just wanted to add that I rarely go to Walmart.
My local Walmart is run down, very dirty and like you @LilyoftheValley i don’t trust their produce.

You guys walmarts sound like hellholes. The ones we have here are totally clean, have good produce, and have very little crime. In fact, they just got done renovating and reopening one of them.
