Hi @mjseu. Welcome back to the forum. You have been missed. Lovely photos as always.

U look like a Russian man …!!!MJ…!!!

I just like to wear warm clothing. It is funny how my little town has changed. Yesterday I asked what the temperature was and a younger woman without any hat said -17 celsius, she spoke perfectly Finnish but had a very slight accent. It was not a Russian or English speakers’ accent, but she was from somewhere else, maybe Siberia. I went to the store today and on my way some people just laughed although it was -25 celsius. Maybe they have also come from Siberia.

Yep, I am living in the society where we have many Russians, for example one young Russian woman speaks good Finnish, but from her accent one knows that she is Russian, but this one younger woman who spoke perfectly Finnish with a very very slight accent is a mystery.

She’s based on kimmie Finland …!!

I can’t imagine such cold weather! Here in Cape Town the coldest it gets is about 5 degrees Celsius - in the night not the day. The day the coldest is about 13 C. No snow not even frost.

  • 25 C! Yikes! Doesn’t ones nose or toes fall off? Lol!

Went to my local beach the other day too. It’s summer here so beach was crowded. Water was so warm!

It is just a question of attitude as one son of my father’s old schoolmate said few years ago, you should come to Finland and live one year with me in my society and you would understand it better. In the past there have been times when the heating oil had run out and the temperature had been below-20 celsius, but people live here like that. I lived my youth in warm countries and now I live here, I know that many Finns try to escape this cold to Costa Del Sol, Thailand and elsewhere where it is warm, but I think it is great to live here.
