Yeah it is a kind of dementia. People don’t get that sz effects so much of your life. Those who are ignorant to it either think we have multiple personalities that kill people or we just have hallucinations.

Not necessarily. I do live with my mom and receive a lot of help from her but I have an awesome therapist who helps me challenge my sz. If you have a support network and work hard there’s no reason you can’t have an awesome life.
The problem with Schizophrenia is that it is all over the brain. Experts say it is an overproduction of dopamine; people’s synapses are too sensitive; and that there are decreases in brain volume, changes to the prefrontal cortex and other brain regions. Given this evidence, it is little wonder why living with Schizophrenia is an ongoing challenge. You have to learn to live with it without losing yourself. That is a step by step process. Sometimes it can even feel like you are going backwards.
