I may take that route.
I know another psychiatrist that I can talk to for a second opinion.

Thanks @Pianogal

I would be concerned, too. Something being where there shouldn’t be, lesion possible, is scary. Just know that the professionals know things we don’t. That’s why they’re pros.

Apparently, they haven’t explained the what’s, etc. That’s their job. So, keep asking questions. When you feel you have all the answers, act.

I was diagnosed with a non alcoholic fatty liver. That’s scary, I admit. No lesions though. It’s mostly resolved itself, though.

There’s hope. Sending you hugs. :hugs:

Thanks @JustTrish
I guess they want to make sure that I don’t have a lesion by my gallbladder.

Yes it’s scary but like you said I’ll continue to trust the professionals.

Thanks again

Yes that’s a tough situation…I was on valproic acid years ago and I hated it because the pills were difficult to break and they tasted awful. Picked up weight too - 10kgs.

My husband was on valproic acid too, for his epilepsy for years. Did little to stop his seizures. Just made him pick up weight and lose hair on his head. He’s got big belly and bald spot now, even though he’s stopped it several years ago. He’s on Topiramate instead and it’s helped him a lot more

Of course epilepsy is very different from bipolar / sza… maybe like others say - get second opinion. Your physical health very important too!

Maybe ask if you can try another mood stabiliser. Topiramate maybe? Lamotrigine? My husband and I both on the latter.
