Water Heater pipe burst under my house

The landlord had a pipe patched early this winter instead of replacing the broken pipe. I noticed steam coming from under my house. I don’t know how long this has been broken, but there’s a moat around my house now.

I’ve been stress shopping for houses online, and not having any money to put down on a house makes me feel worse. At least with a landlord, I won’t have to pay for this. I will just have to move.

sucks renting, have to depend on the landlord, they like to collect money, but not keep their end of the bargain.

greatest fear is bursting pipe. I sleep next to heater pipe, in basement.

warm but deadly… might have to rethink risk…

When I was a kid at my dad’s the whole water heater burst and water came flooding through the ceiling.

You should be okay though. I think it is more likely to burst a pipe. A relatively new water heater should be sturdy enough to keep you safe.

Get out of there man, no one wants to be scalded and disfigured. Or relocate your bed.
