Vraylar side effects?

Both Wed and today in the afternoon I’ve had drowsiness/difficulty concentrating and heart pounding. I lay on the couch a couple of hours and the symptoms go away. Are these side effects of Vraylar? Anyone else had similar experiences? I remember what @Wave told me about the ap making nervous wreck effects. I hope I don’t have to start all over again on a different med. Thanks.

I would contact your doctor about it immediately.
You don’t want to mess with your heart.
It could be anxiety or something more serious like tachycardia.

I called my pdoc’s # . She and her asst. are both gone for the weekend, so I got the usual emergency room song and dance. The receptionist could not advise, of course.

I might’ve heard that prolonged q-t (heart rhythm abnormality) can happen from Vraylar. I know for sure that Orap used to do that to me. Now, it’s the usual catch-22 between the benefits of the drug versus the side effects. Unless I go to the ER, I guess I’m stuck for the weekend.

I would go to the ER if it continues.
Your heart is important!

I’m okay right now, but if it happens again, yes I will call 911. Thank you.

This study says that prolonged QT could be due to a calcium, magnesium, and / or potassium deficiency. A good majority of people never meet their 4.7 gram RDA of potassium, so that could be a place to start.

Good luck with your heart issues.

Thanks a lot.

Also: I lie on the couch with shortness of breath and with anxiety close to panic. I close my eyes. My imagination does something, and my arms and hands spasm. I say aloud, “What the heck was that?”

Could be drug-induced akathisia. If it doesn’t happen a lot I’d try not to worry about it.

Okay, I won’t. It’s happened before – about a month ago.
