Good luck with your med changes. I hope it works out.

Honestly I don’t think she should have said that. It’s not always true of people with sz or sza.

I invest in stocks and am schizophrenic. What’s with all the sza hate toward sz lately :stuck_out_tongue: ?

Your pdoc sounds like she has the same view as mine. I ran my own business so she said there’s no way I could be sz or sza.
Is your pdoc older by chance? Mine is age 65

It’s quite possible. My pdoc has the view that sza or schizophrenics are always in and out of jail or the hospital.
It’s possible that all her current sz or sza patients really had that going on.

I understand that schizophrenia comes in mild, moderate, and severe. I have no mild case of schizophrenia, but I have gotten such excellent care that it is as if I had a mild case.

Yeah I would guess she is 55-60.

Thats more likely why she might of said that. Also you said she’s seen many patients so that probably gave her that view point

I agree. I think what she really was implying is that in her view SZ is more severe than SZA on average. Of course, the odd case can fall either way, but to her she felt that I didn’t have schizophrenia.

Yeah for sure.

My pdoc explained it to me as a level of functioning saying sz was the lowest functional out come then sza then bipolar. Although the treatment is largely similar.
I take it all with a grain of salt. As long as I get good treatment thats what matters most.

Yeah definitely. This is exactly what my doctor was saying. After conversing with me and stuff, she was convinced that I don’t have sz.

I actually disagreed with mine cuz someday I felt my functioning was quite low

I see here that some szics are much more functional than sza. Like velociraptor.

I explained to her that I had cognitive dysfunction implying that it is probably as severe as schizophrenia. But, she thought the way I was talking and stuff implied I hadn’t got sz.

So what meds are you on now? @angledangle

Haldol/Abilify. So far so good.

There are no voices on Abilify. There are some other symptoms though. A second medication, if it simply wipes the hypomania out, should be enough.

Were you on Abilify before? I wish I could be on Abilify, on it I finished a 3yrs university degree, I was normal.

Yes. since 2018. For the most part no voices since then.
