Vehicle woes...gonna miss mom's day party at family

bummed…everyone is coming for mom’s day and I am going to have to miss it due to a possible bad fuel pump on my suv. my mechanic only tows in town and it will be on a sunday too…so no good no go. Happy Mother’s day.

You got some ramps, jacks, and a tool set?

Could anyone pick you up? Or is it unreasonably far for a ride?

That is too bad. Sorry you couldn’t make it. :octopus::octopus::octopus:

What kind of vehicle? I use Youtube tutorials to fix stuff when I can.

Sometimes the fuel pump is in the gas tank. Those are a pain. You have to drain the gas first. Otherwise shouldn’t be too bad to fix.

yes, tomcat…the fuel pump is in the gas tank…no way I would take that on…plus I am so dumb about working on cars…I can give a jump and check fluids…haha…that’s about it.

Can a family member pick you up?

Sometimes there is an access panel on the bottom of the tank. Those aren’t too bad. If you have to drop the tank that’s too much to do at home unless you have a lift in your garage.

Do you hear pump fire up after putting key to ON?

If not, did you check fuses? If fuse blown, pump is dead without power. $0.75 fix.

I can’t hear it but that doesn’t mean it’s not working…I am no mechanic…I will take it in when it fails…that’s all I can do…thanks everyone but you are overestimating my capability…haha

and no one is going to come get me…it is ok…they will have a nice time.

I just drove it to the store…it’s running fine…no spurts like it’s going out or anything…I’m going to my sister’s and mom’s tomorrow anyways…
