US Healthcare Repeal

Boo. It doesn’t show the gif.

I just want to say that I’m thankful that I have not been in a Psych Ward for longer than 2 weeks or on the street up till now. In the past people like us were permanently institutionalized for what we have and the meds didn’t exist. If this spells the end of whatever protections we have be glad that not all of our lives amounted to the worst case scenarios. I think we can find hope in the fact that it happened at all that any of us could work, have kids, or live in our own spaces with roofs over our heads and food in the fridge. It was because someone gave a damn about us and hopefully those same people will not send us back to the dark ways of the past. Whatever happens today happens but it won’t change the attitudes of those who are trying to allow us to function as normally as we can even if it is often much less than what others have. I know there’s a lot of us in jails, and on the street but it’s not the case for everyone who has the capacity to seek help. Remember that someone does give a damn, and there are people who love us in spite of what we put them through.

I wouldn’t be so bothered if it was a bipartisan effort. Right now I feel like I am not adequately represented. What was that in history class about taxation without representation?

That’s the thing, NOBODY WANTS THIS! Even the R senators keep saying it’s awful, it’s disgraceful, it should never become law… But I’m voting yes.

Like, WTF is wrong with these people? If you KNOW it’s so awful, why would you vote yes?!??

Bill is finally posted. Vote in 2 hours.

CBO score expected right around when they plan to vote.

Still no vote, but it’s coming very very soon.

I’m scared. I had to step away and take some anxiety medicine and calm down a bit. If they repeal the ACA so many people will die without access to healthcare. Hospitals in rural areas will no longer be able to make ends meet and they’ll have to shut down.

I know you’re freaking out but there are some that want this. While it gave some people healthcare it made it more expensive for many more people. Just saying that there are those that want this. Also there are the people who are forced to have insurance because of the affordable health care act freakonaleash is one of them if I remember.

Me I’m kinda on the fence because I think I may be receiving some benefit from this but it is a texas program. Somehow I doubt they will have the votes but I could be wrong. Republicans were what stopped the new trumpcare from coming to fruition.

Okay, things got more expensive for some under ACA, but they will be even more expensive without it. In the first year alone premiums will increase more than 20%. And that’s for typically healthy individuals. If you have a pre-existing condition it’s disastrous.

Looks like everyone had voted but they haven’t closed it yet. Speculation is if they had the votes it would have been closed already.

For any gamblers out there, apparently betting markets just dropped odds of passage to 45%.

I hope this fails.

Lol honestly its stressful watching us politics in canada, especially abiut healthcare. I cant imagine what its like for americans effected by it.

Canadian health care is amazing.

For example, at my injection they took my blood pressure and it was a little high (when I went home and checked it, it was ok)

But I decided I wanted to see a doctor anyways. Plus I have a mole i want looked at.

I called today, appointment next Tuesday. All paid for by the provincial health care plan. Not even paperwork to sign. Its amazing.

Meanwhile all I have is basic Medicare for $125 a month and my husband and daughter together pay $989 a month for a high deductible plan because my husband also has serious MI and treatment would be even more expensive without it. If this passes, we won’t be able to afford their insurance anymore. We won’t be able to afford my husband’s doctor’s appointments or meds. Without his meds he’ll likely lose his job.
