So I signed up on BlueSky some months back and not much was happening. I went back this past week and the place is fairly poppin’.
I discovered I can filter what I see by keyword so I had AI generate a list that guarantees nothing political shows up on my feed. It is all photography and paddle boarding, which is most enjoyable. Thanks to @firemonkey for the reminder.
I might try BlueSky.
I still like Twitter.
You won’t after a day on BlueSky unless you’re only on X for the politics.

Sadly, no. It would be nice to have alternatives.
I still use both X and Blue Sky.I’m very much into politics, but can and do see why people are put off by it. It’s the top reason by far that I block people on X. Unlike many on Blue Sky I haven’t seen a huge increase in followers. I don’t think I’m the ‘Ideal Blue sky user’. Too old. Too boring. Not educated enough. It’s very slow to update with new comments.
That’s not to deny that it’s a much better social media site than X/Twitter. My shortcomings apply to any social media site or forum.I don’t see that changing. I am comparatively better online than IRL though.

I have been burned so much by twitter x that i cat justify trying that again, it makes no sense 
never use it as a means of purging bad thoughts esp when connected to multiple charities I’m an idiot.
Social media can be very toxic and it’s easy to get sucked in. I am very careful to keep negative stuff out of my feed for this reason.
It’s more like wading into a faster moving part of the river and getting dragged along by the current. Now you know to avoid that spot again.

this might sound strange but i wish myspace was still a thing, i actually like the name of that better, feel like i could breathe a bit better on their and it could be a more personal space.
Haha I remember when I was in the Air Force and Myspace was really popular. I remember I had this female Marine on my page who was meaner than a rattlesnake.

It is much less political than Twitter and people are able to deep dive into their niches.
sounds better than twitter & bluesky to me then, they should change their name to myspace, make it a comeback lol
