I forget what day it is and miss stuff…I had to ask my doc to call the day before my appointment so I would make it to the drs on time…its frustrating …anyone else have this problem and how do you deal with it?
Get a pinboard, they sell them in stationery shops sometimes, i stick all my appointment cards on it, and unpaid bills lol
lol I thought this thread was going to be about romantic dates…

but yeah, a calendar on your wall would do wonders. Also having a handy dandy electronic (like a cellphone, tablet, or electronic watch) would help a lot. I’m mostly on my computer which always has the date on the bottom right of the screen.
I have trouble with this too. My mum prints out calendars for me to write my appointments on for the month and I stick it on the fridge. If I didn’t have that I’d never make it anywhere.
My gp automatically sends sms reminders for all appointments.
I also have a smart phone and have my diary widget on my homepage.
Appointment cards are also useful!
My doc calls the day before it’s automated
Yes.
My brain is a mess.
I have a diary book with date pages that i write everything down on such as appointments etc.
I have to write down simple things too.
I forget education, names etc also and come across as un educated and dumb i think.
I managed to go to agricultural college and even got top grades in some subjects but cant remember anything not even basics one learnt in primary school could i explain or talk about now.
I went to human university studying maths but was hearing voice of this woman screaming at me that shes better at maths than me and she will make sure i fail etc and i heard her screaming 24/7 when i was studying maths so despite loving maths i quit.
But it took me longer to do calculation cause i didnt know times table off by heart.
Managed do Aged care certification but it took me 2 years.
Getting licence was a huge deal and one of best things happened to me along with horse bf and God few other things.
The electronic reminders i have heard of but i would not trust it nor could i afford one nor might i be able to function one.
My mobile phone tells me what date it is but with my latest phone bill being so high i dont know if i can afford connection i have so may switch to prepaid.
Just writing things down helps me.
Even things like do washing etc
I use a planner.
If it’s not written in my planner I don’t do it.
I always used a planner, the paper kind, when I was in college and had more dates/times/tasks to keep up with. I need to start using one again, would simplify things for me. I do write everything down, though, including to-do lists, something I mostly do on days off. The problem is I’m usually so mentally beat on my days off that I don’t do everything on my list, no matter how manageable I try to make it. I put only three things on today’s list, and so far going to the clinic for my shot is the only one I’ve checked off. That leaves going to the gym, which I think I will do shortly, and going to the laundromat, which I am putting off until the morning (dread doing that).
