Too much sleep a waste of time?

Im usually in bed by ten. Gonna set my alarm for 530 am get into a routine. It sucks sleeping 11 hours a night. Kinda waste of life is how i look at it

most nights I go to bed around six…get up at nine thirty p m to take my meds then back to bed until around seven a m…that’s way too much sleep…gonna try to get back to staying up until around midnight and sleeping until morning.

Lately Ive been getting crap sleep like midnight to 7:30 am

I only got 7 hours a night at the hospital. Usually I get around 8 hours a night at the group home. I want to get more sleep. I want to get 9 hours a night of sleep.

I agree that sleeping too much is basically sleeping one’s life away, a waste. Well, that’s been my attitude in recent years. Thing is, at 45 years old I figure I’m probably more than halfway through my lifespan, and I don’t want to piss away however much time I have left in my life by sleeping through it. I rarely sleep more than 6-7 hours a night.

lately about 9 hrs to 10.5 hrs. but i wanna sleep less too

I have the opposite problem because of insomnia. I try to sleep as much as I can.

The days I actually manage to sleep properly I think I usually get 5-7 hours.

But I used to sleep a lot many years back before the isomnia started, mainly as a side effect of zyprexa.

If you are going to cut back on sleep I would set small goals, like a half hour earlier for a while and so forth, and see what is managable. Cutting back to the desired amount of sleep might not be realistic if you are taking sedating drugs.
