I believe it was built to give off a “sonar ping” but for some reason it’s not doing it.
In a 2018 letter to Oceanscape, the company that owns the sub and runs the Titanic tours, a group of 30 experts in submersibles and underwater sea voyages warned that they feared there would be serious problems with the sub because it was rushed into production and did not follow all industry standards for submersibles. Oceanscape claimed their submarine was good enough but that letter has resurfaced to haunt them now. I thought you might find this interesting.
The sub doesn’t have an escape hatch the crew can get out of so if the 5 members of the sub did make it safely to the surface themselves they are bolted inside the sub from the outside.

Scary and sad. If there was a hatch, i reckon the pressure of being so far deep in the ocean wouldnt fare well for survival.

this is getting to me knowing they are about to probably die under there…I wish I knew where they were. I know that sounds dumb…I just wish I could help them.

Honestly I highly doubt that they’re alive. Reading more about that sub I’m shocked anyone was willing to go on it. It sounds like a safety nightmare. Honestly I kinda just hope that their deaths were quick from depressurizing rather than slowly suffocating.

This accident is nothing. Yesterday a fisher boat was submerged near Greece coast in which 750 people were traveling illigal. Boat submerged and more than 500 people died. 300 of them are Pakistani national. When Greece coast guard found that they are Pakistani, guards refused to save them. Isn’t it a disaster.

A lot of jokes are going around about billionaires and while I think the rich need to answer for their greed, not by the terror that this has done for them.

Although what is happening with this sub is tragic I’m not feeling that awful about it.
I think it’s because many of them were aware of the risks and decided to go anyway and maybe I have a hard time feeling sorry for a bunch of millionaires to begin with.
