If you say that someone has their feet on the ground, you approve of the fact that they have a sensible and practical attitude towards life, and do not have unrealistic ideas.

I think the person who told me ā€œYou have your feet on the ground by not having your feet on the groundā€ meant I have enough imagination not to get stuck with limits that others place on me. That Iā€™m not overly practical. I have some dreams that may be far out there, but if you donā€™t have dreams, you have no chance at achieving the dreams.
