This indicated that the prevention and treatment of Epstein-Barr virus might represent an approach for the prevention and treatment of serious psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia

EBV is a common virus and research suggests it infect approximately 90-95 percent of the world’s population. However, most people never show symptoms of infection and the vast majority of people never have complications.

Currently, there are no treatments available for EBV approved by the Food and Drug Administration, but a number of compounds that may prevent or treat replication of the virus are under investigation.

In the meantime, researchers recommend preventing EBV transmission through good hygienic practices such as hand-washing and avoiding oral contact, such as kissing, with infected people.

I’m already immune to it due to congenital CMV which also seems to be linked to SZ. I think it may have caused my childhood sz.
