He has on a tshirt, a sweater, and a winter coat when i let him out. I also use a balm to protect his paw pads from frostbite. He can only get from the deck to the edge of the grass before he stops being able to walk. I’ll have to carry him to the grass anc carry him back in, poor little guy! He’s just a 10lb (4.5 kg) Shih Tsu!

When small dogs spend much time in the bitter cold they shiver violently. It makes me feel sorry for them, but they don’t seem to be too distraught over it. I got eleven cats to take care of. This other girl takes care of them too. I’m giving them extra rations in this cold weather.

our dogs love the cold weather apparently, we have to offer treats so they come back in sooner than they want to. ha. the new pup loves her brother Max. Rooroo doesn’t really care…but Max and Missy play a lot.

My dogs love the cold but we don’t get cold very often. . I have to bribe them in with treats too. They are huskies so have plenty of fur. Usually they want to be in the ac in the house.
Sheba is five and it snowed when she was a puppy. Dakota was a year old then. They haven’t seen snow since.

It was -31 F this morning and my poor little Shadow was already “tri-podding” after being outside for just a couple minutes. I’ve tried putting booties on her but she always chews them off.

Super thin coat Beagle mix, Chey pees right on the deck. Yellow snow piddles all over the deck.
Oliver is thicker coated and loves rolling around in the snow. He tends to stay out for a while.
Watch the salt for the puppers paws.

I had a husky as a kid. Loved him! He even played football with the local kids and me. It was so much fun!
