Thinking my house is haunted

I had a big mix up with my meds last month,

Just a couple days ago it was corrected and now I’m on the right meds.

But I think I’m having some side effects from the other medication.

Lately I’ve been convinced my house is haunted and have been collecting “evidence”.

“Evidence” is strictly against the rules my husband and I agreed on.

But I’ve been feeling lots of paranormal things lately.

My dogs behaving strangely,

My TV switching on and off, also changing the volume itself,

And I’ve been hearing/seeing things at night.

I still have the insight to know this is the illness, but losing it enough to video the TV switching on and off and some other stuff.

What can I do to keep these feelings under control until my meds kick in?

You could check out the ‘most haunted’ you tube videos.

Might seem the absolute worst thing to do but these shows are so ridiculous that it makes the issue of real ghosts seem farcical.

Ha!

Unique idea, @anon94176359.

You’re right, those shows are ludicrous and really do make it seem like a real haunting is impossible.

What passes for “evidence” in those shows is laughable.

In my opinion, this is just the suggestion planted in your mind by your mother in law who said she thought the house was haunted. And now your mind has latched onto it.

Your meds should kick in soon hopefully.

Try to distract yourself with other things in the meanwhile.

No such thing as the super natural IMO. Can definitely be hard to believe at times. But try and remember the fear is in your mind, nothing’s going to hurt you despite how frightening it might be.

That’s more likely a failing, cheap printed circuit board.

You mean it has noticed that you’re behaving strangely and is responding to that.

Just keep pushing back against the weird thoughts, keep telling yourself it’s just the illness. This is a powerful habit to have.

Fingers crossed for you that this is resolved soon.

Recently, I was sitting on the sofa watching TV when the channel suddenly changed. I’m not superstitious so I’m like WTF?!? Then I started looking for the remote control to change the channel back and it turns out the remote was under the blanket my little dog was lying on. Apparently, her movement changed the channel.

The moral of the story: If your dog and TV are behaving strangely, check under your dog’s butt for the remote.

for a long time I believed there was a spirit portal that would travel around the country following me…always in my bedroom closets…yeah, right…haha…good luck…there is such a thing as ghosts but rare…very rare…

If you want peace of mind, try coarse sea salt sprinkled around all windows and doors. It’s just your fly by witchy tidbit. And honestly, if you are freaking bad, throw a small handful at whatever is acting funny. If there is anything, it’ll disperse it for a bit, no negative results, it’s like the ectoplasm ray from ghostbusters, it’s a zap towards them.

But honestly, check your plug in wires, see if any of the coating has exposed wires and fix with electrical tape, might be a mouse or pet snacked on the cords, etc.
