Think I might ask to go to seroquel 3 times a day

I take 300mg seroquel twice a day (every 12 hours). However it doesn’t feel like it lasts the full 12 hours.

Thinking of asking to go to 250mg seroquel 3 times a day instead. This will be a slight increase but me and my doc feel that maybe is the time to drop the depixol AP. Since I am on high dose seroquel my doc isn’t that happy with poly pharmacy.

This would suit me as I get bad concentration on depixol too.

What do you folks think?

are you on seroquel XR?

No the immediate release version. The XR is too expensive apparently.

That’s really unfortunate. Because that would probably solve your problem. Maybe there are other XR APs you can try?

I was on seroquel and switched to XR and it’s helped a lot more.

hope your doc can help you sort it out.

Sounds like it’d be worth a shot at least.

When I was on seroquel I could tolerate 600mg but not 700mg for some reason.

Hey everybody is different. When you stopped due to bad effects did you taper down or were you forced to go cold turkey? If so that would be rough.

Cross tapered to abilify in the end. Doc lowered seroquel very slowly and increased abilify.

By all accounts it is a hard med to come off.

Good luck with your med adjustment @anon20613941

You can always try. My insurance won’t cover more than two doses a day of my AP, but seroquel might be different and the UK might be different.

Thats odd… my xrs cost 3 dollars… it makes me hungry…

Thing is it doesn’t actually cost me anything because I get it on the nhs. Is just the firm making the XR in the U.K. charges the nhs a lot for the med.

Ahso… that sucks… the xr seems to last a very long time sometimes 15 hours.

Yeah, coming off Seroquel sucks. I’m going thru that now. Regular Seroquel has a very short half-life compared to a lot of other APs, something like 6 hours, so going to 3-a-days may benefit you if you can’t go to the XR.

Pdocs are sometimes reluctant to order or increase doses of Seroquel because Seroquel is an addictive drug. At least that is my understanding of it. Some people get hooked on it.

I gained over 100 pounds on seroquel. Later, after trying others, I began wetting the bed with seroquel. I just can’t tolerate it.
