What I appreciate the most about not being in the hospital is having my smart phone and having privacy.

I thing I appreciate about not being in a hospital is that I’m always so desperate to be discharged.

Yeah being hospitalized stinks. I remember a few years back I used to love the hospital.

I enjoy my freedom, music, gadgets, and being able to control the goddang temperature!

Freedom.

No matter how bad off I become mentally, whenever I get in a hospital I get much worse. I don’t know why, it may be because they automatically used to increase my dose of meds when I got it. Or it may be the people and the atmosphere. It’s probably one of those two.

Barcelona is a really fun team to watch. Messi + their style of play.

It’s funny the things you miss when you’re “on the inside.” I dunno about some of y’all, but they took our deodorant and gave us this rolly-ball thing with chemicals safe for consumption instead. Also, I’ve lost a good pair of track pants by having to surrender my drawstring. Walking around in a shoe without laces is good for hygiene (no Athlete’s Foot), but looks kinda silly…unless you’re the person in paper clothes. And THAT person is totally dehumanized now. Oppression in the name of health. Weird how they’ve forced these two disparate conditions into one.

Not being locked up, Having my own bedroom with all my possessions and not having to worry about someone stealing them. Eating what i want–when I want it. I can get in my car and go wherever I want. Not sharing a room. Not having to wait in a freezing room waiting for six or seven guys to shower before me. Not living in close quarters with 75 other people and we’re all out of our minds.

Mental health hospitals in many countries sound horrible.

We had privacy (no room sharing), smart phones and freedom in all the places I was in. Except the first days we generally weren’t allowed to walk very far from the ward, so we’d have to wait until someone could drive us or come with us. They also provided public PCs and sometimes made home-cooked meals for us. And they provided internet and emergency cigarettes.
