The in laws are selling some of their fish and the salt water tank. They said they will buy things for their dogs…not so much the cats. But they are going to buy the nightcrawlers I need for jasper. The rehomed Leo their bearded dragon, my parakeet Zorro and their pitbull rebel last week. It’s like they are just rubbish or toys to them
So why are they selling the fish?

I bought fish for my girls when they were very young. I’d get attached…the poor fish would die in 3 weeks…I’d bawl like a baby…buy a new one…It would die in a month…I’d cry like a schoolgirl…and finally i said…
NO MORE FISH!!!

Have you tried Betas? They are very resilient. 
They’re sick of being the ones taking care of them. For awhile they were in our apartment but they still were their fish. They got moved back to their house and put in the enclosed insulated back porch with the fresh water tank.
We still have a tiny 5 gallon tank with a betta, guppy and a platy. Threatened to feed the guppy and platy to my frog. Got a very stern no. Just kidding anyway
