The wait is nuts!

I have a lesion under my eye that didn’t improve with steroid cream.

My primary dr referred me to dermatology

I can only go to this dermatology clinic because it’s with the hospital system I have financial assistance with

They can’t see me until the 2nd week in November!

It’s nuts because I’m in the US where waits aren’t hardly ever longer than about 2 months.

Oh well. I’m grateful it’ll be free. I can’t complain

you can’t wait…go to urgent care if you can.

I can wait. Urgent care would refer me to my primary dr who already referred me to a specialist @jukebox

A lot of times when a doctors office makes an appointment for many months away they will tell you that either they will call you if a time slot opens up sooner or they will tell you to call them occasionally to see if they have a sooner appointment. So you might want to call and talk to them and maybe they’ll call you up if someone cancels and you can be seen quicker.

This happened to me with the sleep clinic for my sleep study. I called in March for an appointment and they made me an appointment for December but they called me a month and half later and gave me an appointment in August.

Yeah @77nick77 they told me I can keep calling to see if there’s a sooner spot. I’ll do that just in case

That reminds me of the rheumatologist appointment I had a year wait for. I didn’t even go.

That’s a long wait. I hope they can get you in sooner.

Oh so is it actually on the skin under the eye or like directly under the eyeball in the eye??

Sorry to hear it. I’ve had to do a similar wait time for dermatology before.

It’s the skin itself that is abnormal @Zoe

My hospital has an app I can use for all interactions with those doctors in that network. They have a button you can click to be put on a cancellation list. They will email me if there are any openings. I just have to pay attention before the offer expires and they contact someone else.

@sweetpotatocasserole , you’re lucky to have the option of a cancellation list. My health system doesn’t have that

That sucks. I broke my ankle in November and didn’t start PT until 13 weeks later. I think it caused me to heal more slowly
