Any fans out there of this band?
I think they’re the perfect dichotomy of hilarity and sadness.

They’ve depressing as hell. But they were my friends favorite band when I knew him in 1988. He bought every commercial album they put out and then we used to drive up to San Fransisco or Berkley and find all the little inconspicuous, hole-in-the-wall record stores who carried rare records and buy bootlegs and concert recordings.
lol Maybe I’m depressed. I find them funny as hell. Except for a few songs.
That’s cool you had that experience.
I was singing "William it was really nothing the other day
They made good music
That’s a great song
I play “please please please” on the guitar by them. my other favorite song by them is Where Is Now? and This Charming Man.
️️️️️ But, I started reading Jim Morrissey’s autobiography a few years ago and couldn’t get through it because even his writing is depressed. The most mundane moments of childhood were turned into a slow depressing funeral march.
I do love their songs (listened to them in the 80’s more) and I have had a lot of respect for Morrissey’s life choices.
Love the smiths. Morrissey’s solo stuff is great too.
Morrissey, “It’s not your birthday anymore, no one needs to be nice to you.” “You’ve said more today than most people say in a lifetime.”
Never really got the hype for Morrissey/ The Smiths.
“I love the smiths!” ~500 days of summer
