The receptionist lady was rude to me while I tried to get an appointment because pdoc said he wanted to see me in two weeks last week and I have not heard anything. She told me she’s not the secretary. And I understand she must be under a lot of pressure because the secretary isn’t doing her job properly or probably but that’s no way to treat me. Or perhaps they is so much work and not enough staff. She hates when I call, but all I am trying to do is get my appointment.

Sorry to hear that. She should understand your predicament. It may not be her job, but honestly, how hard could it be to give you an appointment. She needs a bit of perspective I think.

I have had to fight for treatment from the NHS every step of the way
If you’re not acutely ill, they drag their heels sometimes for weeks before you actually get any help.
Such a pain, and causes all sorts of problems
Especially if you’re working, and you could lose income from being ill. It’s important that they focus on sorting out problems before they go too far

In my opinion, they told me I didn’t need therapy because I was well. But my point is thats the best time to have it because when problems happen then I will be more equiped to tackle them. Rather than them waiting for me to be acutely unwell with psychosis, how am i supposed to respond to treatment then.

I hate it when they don’t accommodate to you taking charge of your healthcare. When you’re new to the service they are really helpful, but then they start becoming really rude once you’re a regular face.
