The Publish or Perish Factor For These Researchers

The reason I keep saying, “Just give me the damn research money”?

Because these so-called government funded researchers keep restating the obvious…common knowledge that we already know. They just frame it in a different way.

But if they don’t produce something, their funding will try up. So they come up with nonsense like, “Fresh Air and Exercise Lower Psychotic Episodes in Schizophrenia Patients.”

The ‘Duh! Factor’ is unbelievable.

Tap sources that are not public and popular. Like research whitepapers. I don’t know about psychiatry or whatever, but for math and software engineering, there is a huge difference between popular press and actual research papers.

At what point do you give up on trying to replicate a piece of research, and move on to new pastures research wise?

There’s a publication bias for the lifestyle health research also. They publish the one positive result for things like chocolate and ignore the four negative results etc. I’ve decided to just use my common sense and take it all with a pinch of salt, or a big handful of salt…
