The Orthomolecular Treatment of Schizophrenia

I am a psychology student conducting my dissertation study on the orthomolecular treatment of schizophrenia. I am starting this thread for two reasons: I am seeking participants for the study, and I would like to share information. My study is small and simple. I will interview individuals who are already using this treatment about their experience with it, as well as a few select close friends and family who could shed light on this experience from an interpersonal perspective. This treatment has helped numerous people, but the scientific literature lacks the narrative accounts from these people directly. So, if you have tried antipsychotics and then switched to using primarily the orthomolecular approach (especially vitamins B3 and C) to treat your schizophrenia, and you are willing to be interviewed, please contact me at n.fortino@sofia.edu. For more information about this treatment, please respond to this thread and start the conversation. Thank you.

i take b3 , it treats the positive symptoms but not so much for the negative symptoms

Ortho molecular I heard that was like a mega dose of vitamins to cure the patient but takes like 2 years over time. Pfeifer treatment center was the only one I knew of and inquired at the time. Just no money to go to Illinois and set an appt.

Yeah, I’ve taken the Orthomolecular approach for greater than 30 years, and I do well. Never lowered my antipsychotic meds, however.

Good luck in your research.

J.

Thanks for sharing. Are you open to discussing your experience in greater depth? I’d love to hear about your experience. Please message me via this platform or at n.fortino@sofia.edu if you are open to sharing more.

I sent a message to the email. I started B3 500 mg 3 times daily today with very little flushing if any.
