Of course it does. It’s only the natural progression of things. Next on the list of things that may cause cancer are flintstones vitamins, chemotherapy and line dancing.
There are a lot of studies showing using mouthwash two or more times a day for a long period of time, significantly increases the risk of diabetes.
For awhile I was using mouthwash once in awhile. And yes, sometimes listerine. But not a lot. Mostly before I went out of the house as a precaution against bad breath, etc.
Seriously though, as much as they find out things cause cancer, just imagine the amount products we use that have not been been found to cause cancer…yet…that probably do.
Now I guess I should be afraid to brush my teeth too much, as well.
I wouldnt be surprised if flushing yourself out with laxatives for colonoscopies could cause cancer as well, and they are making me do it once every 6 months to a year to watch for polyps…which can cause cancer…
Damn. I use Listerine every day.
I think I’ll stop.
I’m sensitive to chemicals so I never liked listerine anyway
I use listerine every day as well.
Still have 2 bottles.
Damn.
That’s why I use a natural kingfisher toothpaste. Much safer
Many things do indeed contribute to cancer thus why… I’m considering an organic vegan wholefood diet. And a good attitude etc. Many things contribute to cancer some of which we can’t control much on our own but at least I can do my part or consider to. Minimising cancer risk IS or MAY be worth it to me, others may prefer otherwise.
Hahaha… You are too much!
[There are some important limitations to the study. The researchers did not collect information on the participants’ dietary habits or smoking. It is therefore not possible isolate a single factor that may contributed to the risk of cancer. Other imitations included: Swabs of areas of the mouth were limited to tonsillar pillars and the posterior oropharynx. The authors note that the results may not represent the entire oral cavity. Adherence to using the mouthwash was not controlled. Changes were not confirmed with a second methodology. Only men who have sex with men were included in the study. Therefore, the results might not be generalisable to the general public.]
Sloppy research with confirmation bias.
dont forget spaghetti!
good point. also i feel like news outlets and people in general over simplify the findings. scientific results are so nuanced and need to be communicated carefully to convey the true results. most often it gets simplified down to " X causes cancer" or “blank is bad for you”. not ever that simple.
So true. Most people don’t like nuance or uncertainty: they want completely this or completely that. They want simple solutions to complex problems. They try to connect dots that may somewhat connect or do not connect.
For example, the Rorschach test. What do I see? I see ink on paper. Specifically? I think the “correct” answer is moth or bat, but I see a vagina. Admittedly, I know enough about vaginas to realize how little I know about vaginas. Or maybe I have a horny bias. I’m okay with not knowing what it is, if it is something.
I had Super Ted vitamins as a nipper
I knew it. I just knew it.
Yeah, but that’s only if you use it in your mouth.
I only use mouthwash if there is a infection. It sometimes happen if I burn the roof of my mouth, but not so much anymore as I try to take care.
