I see that in the future there are psychological service providers who operate around the world providing psychological services on the Internet. Some of these discussions on sz have been quite therapeutical.
Helping each other in the community is self-help support group.
Mental Health professionals helping community members is moderated support group, IMO.
Looking forward to your E-mental health.
The psychiatric treatment center that I managed as a nurse for 5 years now offers online therapy.
They have 2 licensed therapists dedicated to providing therapy via webcam service.
I’m told it’s become hugely popular, and that they’re going to be expanding the program.
I’m very pleased to see the psych community embracing technology to better patients’ lives.
Blessings,
Anthony
I am in favor of SOME of these technological advances. I think using a secured-session to conduct therapy or psychiatric advice to the immobile, rural, or others is a great idea. I DO NOT like these “forums” where people can post some vague question and have a board-certified doctor reply, usually at a fee. That is what I call a “racket.”
Well, it was almost 2.5 years ago (Aug 2014) when I talked about these E-mental health services, I am glad it is happening now … so happy …
