Yeah, my cat I got for my birthday 9 years ago was right up there with my best gifts. He was mellow, affectionate and good natured, just an all around good guy.
As a kid though, a slot car set when I was about 8 or 9 was a favorite. We set it up on the living room floor and raced all day and it was so fun that my dad let me keep it up for about 5 days.

I got a race car track thing for christmas when I was like 8 but when I opened it up despite it working fine they said it was broken and returned it lol. Guess I was a bad boy :’(

When I was young I got a train set that actually smoked by using household oil. It just went in a small circle but I loved it.

My best present was a truck. It was a 01 tundra TRD limited edition. I had that truck and got a second engine put in it and had it to 340000 miles. Man I loved that truck it was a beast. To bad I got rear ended and my truck got totaled about a year and a half ago.

My best present was a very old, worn out, well-read book that my grandfather had owned. Mom couldn’t afford to give me or my sisters anything that Christmas, so she gave us each something special that belonged to her. Her dad had died when she was 6, and that book meant so much to her. I still have it- I’ve kept it in a box where the pages won’t sustain further damage. I wish I could repair it, though. It has no value outside of sentimentality, but because it meant so much to her, it means a lot to me, too.

Nothing stands out. My Dad always bought us stuff when we wanted it all year long. There wasn’t much special about Christmas or birthdays but we always did get gifts.

When my dad died, my mom asked all his friends to write stories about memories they had of him, then made them all into a scrapbook for each of us kids. It has all these happy stories about my dad from age 5 right up until he died. That’s the most important thing I own.

I had just turned 18. He was 42 at the time, very young. Ironically, he got his cancer diagnosis about six months after I was declared cancer free.
