That's it, I'm buying myself an electric throw

I just spent the last half hour reading up on them. They cost around $30-50 which I can afford. They’re safe and cost pennies to run for ten hours. I figure I’ll save about $40+ a month if I use one instead of my space heater. They’re machine washable and they look OK.

The only thing I have against electric blankets is that there have to be wires in them which makes them a little less comfortable than a regular blanket.

Yeah sounds a good investment @77nick77. I heard the electricity and utilities costs in California are pretty high…even up to Australian levels!

My grandma always put an electric blanket on me when I was young…I loved it. I still remember being under that heated blanket looking at Christmas lit decorations in the window in the bedroom…good memories…thank you.

AWESOME! I am thrilled that you are getting one. They are the most sinfully, wonderful thing ever. You can keep the heat down and stay toasty. Word of warning though, you never want to go anyplace other than under your heated throw. “Hey Nick, you wanna go to dinner?” “No, I can’t tonight, I have to be under my throw.”

A heated blanket will definitely be cheaper than a space heater! Good way to save a bit on the electric bill.
