Taking a reduced amount of AP's

When I got out of the psych ward of the hospital in 2008, I was taking 20 mg Zyprexa. In 2011 I switched to 4mg Risperdal. In 2017 I started hearing occasional voices, and my pdoc upped the dose to 5mg. November 2019 I switched back to 10mg Zyprexa. Four weeks ago I switched to Abilify, and my pdoc gave me 5mg. I started hearing noises that weren’t there, and last Monday my primary care doc gave me 10mg Abilify. I think the hallucinations have just about stopped as of Friday, but I’m waiting to see.

It seems like since 2008 the amount of AP’s I take has been reduced. I don’t know if that’s normal.

Could be age or some other health effects. Don’t know.

I think it is strange if they do that with no explanation. 5mg abilify seems like a very small dose. Maybe they thought you were stable enough to try. If you are bothered by it: ask!

Schizo tend to get better over time for most people so it’s normal, some even made a full recovery after 7+ years

I’ve come down on my antidepressant recently. I think things do improve with age…it has been reported but I think my symptoms whilst still there really are better.
