I bought a two pack of the Mexican spice, Tajin from Costco
I never tried it before but I must admit I loved their commercials on TV
It basically chile powder, sea salt and lime
After I tasted it I almost gagged!
The stuff is way too salty!
Plus it’s not spicy at all!
Well the bottom line is I threw this crap away!
Utterly inedible junk!

Yeah I hear it’s good on different fruits but it’s not for me
No thanks
Don’t you have a low salt diet?
I have one at age 51!
Surely, given the blood pressure complications with being overweight your doctor has advised you not to put salt on anything?

Yes I no longer have high blood pressure but too much sodium is not healthy regardless
This is another reason why I threw it away

I am borderline with the blood pressure, so avoid salt at all costs.
I haven’t had cheese in years, sadly…

Fished the Tajin bottles out of the clean empty garbage bag and decided to try it on baked beans
It actually didn’t taste bad at all!
I think that it tastes best on beans, fruit and vegetable dishes.
Going to keep it as one of my spices

We have some Tajin in the cupboard upstairs. My mom bought it because my sister, who lives in Arizona, said it was good. We never use it lol but I think it’s popular in the West and Southwest

Yeah I’m going to use it in dishes where I normally would use lemon or lime juice
Tajin is very sour because it has lime in it

We can’t find out anything to use it with/on haha. We have some Jacobsen flavored sea salts, so we use those mostly. Even though they’re much more of a flaky salt than Tajin

And you’re right, Tajin is very sour. Salty and sour haha kind of odd, but not terrible

I also have some Tajin in my house, and I find it gives corn (of all things!) a nice flavor— almost like Mexican street corn
I like to serve the corn warmed up with a sprinkle of Tajin and some Cojita cheese (Feta cheese also works in a pinch).

Tajin on corn sounds delish! It is corn on the cob season, so I will have to remember that. Cilantro on corn is great, too

I have to disagree, it is one of the best things. I put it on fresh mango. I wouldnt use it to season meat or anything its not really a seasoning to me but moreso like epic flavor explosion similar to mexican candy filled with chile powder

For sure! Hope y’all like the corn/Tajin combo
Cilantro is awesome in salsa and tacos— never thought to add it to corn, but will try it out!
