Certainly is, at least for me.
I can deal with sz symptoms, but ocd, which I found just now is a bit*ch
I have intrusive thoughts too, and they resemble very much OCD. It’s hell on earth when i have an attack
A pcod once said to me that OCD is at the beginning of the continuum to hearing voices.
I didn’t know I have ocd, thought my aunt is a bit “well organized”, so I thought this perfectionist behavior is ocd…
When I saw youtube videos, then I realized I have this sh**
What I realized from videos, it seems that OCD folks alone have voices…
Did Paxil helped someone?
Luvox worked for me until recently my OCD returned. Going to try a higher dose. I have “pure O”.
Yes, I realized what’s the problem…
I take Effexor, but it doesn’t cover ocd…
Just read instruction
We don’t have luvox, I’ve been on Paxil with success
What’s a pure O
OCD where the compulsions are mental. I used to have regular OCD but it changed.
Can you say more, I know it’s a bit sensitive subject, at least for me…
What do you mean mental?
OCD was an early diagnosis before SZA came along.
Mine is mostly obsessive in nature— what they call “Pure O.”
Lots of obsessive thoughts, rumination, intrusive thoughts, and worry mixed with some compulsions.
It’s kind of taken a back seat to the SZA, but still present every day.
I get an intrusive thought and respond to it with various phrases that are the compulsion. It’s really annoying. Plus what @Schztuna said.
Yes, I think it’s same with me…
In a way, I’m reliefed to know…
Yes i have a bit of ocd, adhd, sza bipolar type and really bad social anxiety and specific phobias. Its difficult. But i do my best to get to work and take care of myself.
An appointment with a pdoc and … after I mentally disconnected, she suddenly asked a bunch of questions like: Do you hear voices? Do you perform rituals?
Performing rituals is an OCD feature, right?
I realy don’t know much my self
I might be wrong, but I believe they are a hallmark of classic OCD, with some overlap in Pure O.
Rituals can sometimes be performed by the individual in order to assuage guilty feelings brought on by intrusive thoughts, to ward off bad luck or worse, to “reverse” or absolve themselves from intrusive thoughts, to protect themselves and/or others, etc.
There is a false degree of correlation between thought content and control (rather, the actual lack thereof), and the rituals serve as assurance that intrusive thoughts, worries, and worse do not come to fruition and can ultimately be avoided.
This is a personal observation from someone who has OCD, so mileage may vary.
Another one here with Pure O. I take Prozac and it’s helping. I’ve only increased the dose in the last month.
I think it depends on which definition of OCD you use. The term has been bandied about often and used loosely. I think for treatment they look for higher on the scale.
My ritual is counting with my fingers in repetitive loops. To try to stay connected to this infinite world. To try to think. Counting ideas. Don’t know if that’s OCD or not but I run this subroutine at least 20 times a day.
