How was your feeling when you had no more symptoms? What did you think of yourself of when you were sick? I never had that feeling and wonder how it feels.

I wonder what the diagnostic criteria is for schizophrenia and depression versus schizoaffective depressive type. If you dont mind sharing, what lead your doctor to a dual diagnosis instead of schizoaffective depressive type?

If thats too personal of a question then please forgive me for being nosey.

As for the topic of the thread, suicidal ideation isn’t solely linked to depression. It is linked to circumstantial issues, schizophrenia, OCD, and pretty much anything else that causes us to feel something undesirable. Of course I’m simplifying it, but it is not mandated to any one illness. It is mostly associated with depression, but it is not solely decided by depression.

Also, when people associate it with depression, it isn’t necessarily associated with clinical depression. Many of the things I listed cause depression, but that doesn’t mean someone afflicted with those conditions qualifies for major depressive disorder.

after 3 days, I felt normal i started crying after 20 years of this, all sort of emotions, i knew I was cured, that I beat it… this diseases, right now, I am thinking my glutamate receptors are all damaged due to stroke i had or maybe lyme disease… everybody is giving me a mystery answer…

last 2 times i had a severe reaction to minocycline in an attempt to get better that is 4 years ago… I’m trying herbs right now Nrf2 and Nrf1 from lifevantage, been on it 4 months but loossing hope they say it takes 9 months to start working to the gluthation for immune disorders lyme, well i believe the science behind it but not sure if it will work on me, I can always wait few more months, and if it fails get a minocycline 100 mg prescription… or 50 mg if it take below 50 mg it doesnt work, what do you think of this?

From what I understand, schizophaffective is when there is mania or depression on top of the psychosis. My psychosis happens independently of depression. My depression happens also independently of psychosis. Meaning I do not have psychosis when I had depression and I do not have depression when I have psychosis.

I never took it and don’t have lyme disease so can’t really tell you, only your Dr can. But if its not dangerous and it cures you, why not.

Honestly, i think all mental illness has a depression component. Every being has a depression componet.

it’s dangerous and risky but it works

Well then if its life-threatening its not worth it as at least you’re alive now.

From a professional’s standpoint, I would probably say depression. I am trained in the field of social work and of course we learned about mental health disorders and sorts. Have you ever been diagnosed with MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) or PDD (Persistent Depressive Disorder) or taken any antidepressants? Trazodone is an antidepressant if you may not have known, I take that but mainly for sleep.

You also could be suffering from manic depression/bipolar depression. You know like a mixture of schizophrenia and bipolar depression or manic depression. Always something to bring up to your psychiatrist if you have concerns.

Right now I am not suicidal, its only when I get off my antipsychotic that I get suicidal and homicidal.
I was never diagnosed with depression. I was seen by 7 psychiatrists so far.

Other medications that you can try are Effexor which is an antidepressant which is known to give energy. Another med is modafinil which is a stimulant used to give you more energy. My previous pdoc suggested both to me for negative symptoms but I refused.

Yes, I experience that too when I get off of meds, especially suicidality. But I’ve only had one psychiatrist the whole time I’ve been diagnosed which has been about 8 years.
