It’s great to know my chances were reduced
My dad has had dogs our whole lives
I have dogs lol. They are such good companions.
Never understood having a dog when you can have a cat. Cats are clearly superior.
I had cats and rats as pets. Got a dog in 6th grade, not happy about it. Not a dog person. I haven’t had a pet since 2014, except for a betta fish that lived 3 years, Captain Jack Sharkbait…yes my kids named it. I took care of that damn thing too, otherwise it would have lasted 2 days. Mean little bugger, would jump out of the bowl if I got too close, so we had to put a screen over the top except to quickly feed it.
I’ve owned dogs since I was 5 years old.
I was exposed to dogs at an early age but still got bit by the bipolar and sz bug.
I don’t understand this study.
I wish they would do some useful studies instead of spending funding on crap like this.

Yea it seems dumb
Bull ■■■■ had many animals including dogs growing up if it runs in your family it is what it is
I wanted a dog so bad growing up that I carried a stuffed one in a basket and told people it was real. I didn’t get one until 5th grade, and then I only had her for a couple of months before my mom had to give her away because we were moving- me and my sister with my dad and Mom in with a friend. Anyhow, point is, maybe not having a dog caused this lol. It was certainly traumatic!
I didn’t see that they controlled for household income. Poor families are less likely to own a dog. The care of a dog is expensive. Perhaps much of this reduced risk is not from the dog but from not being really poor.
I had a dog when I was a young kid at about age 7, and later at age 12. I guess it may have delayed it. The break with reality was a few years after the last one died so maybe making a replacement would have saved me I’m sure. Yes I’m being sarcastic.
