# Study finds evidence of neurobiological mechanism for hallucinations and delusions
The researchers collected data from 127 patients with schizophrenia from various online databases and determined how an individual’s neural timescales related to their hallucination and delusion severities together. They found that neural timescales in the lower levels of the hierarchy tended to be longer in patients with more severe hallucinations, while neural timescales in the higher levels tended to be longer in patients with more severe delusions. These results provide the first direct evidence of a potential neurobiological mechanism for hallucinations and delusions that fits within the hierarchical model of psychosis and can explain their clinical presentation. The common neurobiological mechanism for both symptoms could result in increased neural timescales, but the symptom-specific pathways are the level of the hierarchy at which the neural timescales are increased.

I may lack understanding of the topic. Regardless, from the article I gather that researchers know little about schizophrenia. Otherwise, this would have been elementary notions rather than recent development.
If the malicious functional activities of the hallucinations (psychic pathogen) over the self-knowledge data which treated mentally in the present time causing the delusion in the self-convictions
Which it is means in practice,the hallucinations is the Cause while the delusions is the Result
And the hallucinations in the scientific description is A perceptions without corresponding stimulus
(perceptual responses without materialistic influence,it is reaction outputs without clear influencer )
The question;
where is the neurobiological mechanism for hallucinations and delusions ?
how can neurobiological mechanism working without the existence of materialistic influence ?
what is the source who is producing the mental perceptions while there is no any material influencer?
At first,you must distinguish between the human personal traits which called delusions and the non-human existence and its functional characteristics be called hallucination
1-the delusions in an individual with sz;
they are the sums of thoughts,behavior and feelings of the human individual towards oneself,others and the world of things,phenomena and daily life events that express about personal beliefs /self-convictions
Some diagnose it and call it " false beliefs",while other call it “cognitive impairment” or cognitive deficiency
The most important fact is that,these characteristics are related only the personality of the human individual himself in isolation / independence from all things
While the things be called hallucination, the individual feels them as a whole living entities , in the beginning the individual thinks that they are real human beings exist in the outer environment while in fact they are a living psychological entities (non-human) exist in the inner time-place of his psychological self
Simply,the things be called hallucinations ,they act / behave look like the human psychological self (the psychological user ),they like the thing that you call it I, my self or the self ,and they are not a symptom of disease /illness or else
The hallucination,cannot be diagnoses by all means of observations or lab detection methods,but in the personal perspective of the speakers with the name of science curricula they are classified and call it by the term " hallucination "
Which means, the hallucination is a symptom but without corresponding diagnostic material !!!
Therefore,it is very easy to challenge any scientific research or any personal view that insist on classifying the Hallucination as a symptom like all symptoms of sz that can be diagnosed by observations or lab methods
