Starting to come off meds

First I come off tegretol gradually over 10 days
And then Abilify over 10 days

Then getting on to lamictil and sertraline. I’m kinda worried aout not being on an antipsychotic but we see how it goes.

Thank you I’m worried though as trying to get off antipsychotic meds hasn’t worked before. Granted I have a mood stabiliser this time so it’s safer to do.

Good luck. I’m coming down on my antidepressant. It’s effexor and it’s notorious for it’s withdrawal but it gives me ibs probs at such a high dose. All going well at the moment. I’ve come down from 300 to 225. Bit weird first day but hoping to get down to 150 a day. Good luck to you and wish me luck. I might work on coming down zyprexa a step too from 10 mgs to 7.5 but it’s early days yet.

The goal is to be as stable as possible on as little meds as possible. Don’t push yourself. For me I am stable and happy on just 2 psych meds. For others, 6 meds may be what they are stable and happy on. Stability always comes first. Don’t ever quit meds just because you don’t feel like you should be on so many, if you are happy and doing well don’t rock the boat! However if you are struggling with serious side effects then it is definitely worth trying to cut back on meds and try to find a balance.
