Started volunteering today

Not the best idea atm but it’s better than nothing.

Made some soup at the homeless shelter.

Do you volunteer?

It is.

I wish I could volunteer the entire day. I have the strength for it, unfortunately my positive symptoms act up frequently.

Great job getting out there!

I volunteer twice a week in a hospice office. This has just been my first week there, it went very well.

Yeah well done. I volunteer for a cricket club and it’s interesting if boring. Still. Having something to do and somewhere to go is really good if your not working. I think your doing a good thing for the community but also for yourself!

I want to at a hospital, there’s an application for it. I filled it out without references. I figure what they hay, maybe they will still look into it even though I don’t have references. Just need a doc to sign off on it and then I can hand it in! Fingers crossed.

That’s great you can do that volunteer job. Good for you

Way RAD @anon57786250! That’s SIGNIFICANT!! It’s kind, generous, and considerate!!

I volunteer at my church office on Fridays for six hours, but today I just couldn’t go. I should have though.

I’m just going to volunteer from now. I get paid for my disability and least I could do is give back.

That’s a SUPER awesome perspective!!

I’d like to volunteer but feel I have nothing to offer. In the end, I usually feel that actually working is easier and more rewarding.

I see it as the opposite. When you work, your boss can make you work overtime and they can ■■■■■ at you all the time. When you volunteer, you work on your own hours and nobody can harass you because you’re not getting paid for your work.

I think I would be pretty good a tutoring people for the GED and for teaching people how to read. Maybe some day I’ll get into that.
