Im going to a speed dating event. I decided to put myself out there a bit and try to have fun meeting women. Has anyone been speed dating before? Im a bit nervous but I want to get outside my comfort zone to grow. Any advice or words of encouragement would be appreciated.

I went to a lock and key event because my friend didn’t want to go alone. The guys get keys and the women have locks. You meet everyone; try out your key on a lock and small talk. Anything’s better than internet dating. The women there were super successful; one lady was a neurologist. Met a guy there that went to a lot of dating events; he had no success. When I heard that guy talk about a dystopian dating world I was out. Me and my buddy went bowling afterwards. He eventually met a woman on e harmony. He said it’s a good site because you plug in your info and it matches you to what you’re looking for; only one woman though. Pretty good. The woman he met was a Christian and she said no sex before marriage. He married her that week. It was his third marriage. His disposition totally changed when he met his wife. They take trips together and get along really well. Good luck on your journey.

I went to speed dating years and years ago
I went with a lady I met through a newspaper add it was quite good but I never met anyone I liked but I only went the once. Good luck to you of you enjoy it you can keep going

I did it. It was not for me at the time. Too shy, too disorganised. I did have a few matches, but nothing came out of it. I have heard others have good experiences though. And it was interesting to try, I didnt have a bad time. I think I’d do better now…I became better at small talk. And it is a good way to grow/practice. Wishing you good luck.

I’ve tried it a few times, it was ok but i didn’t have a lot of time talking so it was kind of rushed and I was pretty nervous, & it was easier when i went with my friend, i never met anyone and the last time didnt go well, i got half way around the list and i was exhausted, I hope you have better luck with it than i did.

I went to the event. It went great. Everyone was really friendly and nice. I was nervous but considering I haven’t dated in over a decade it was a great first try again. I think I will go to another one soon. Thanks for your comments and support. It really helped me.
