I phoned my cmht to tell them and ask if we should tell my pdoc and the dude I got was kinda dismissive. He was like ‘oh we can’t change meds you are stable on’

I was like ‘I don’t want new meds. I just don’t want to go cold turkey’.

I get 2 x 200mg a day. They can’t even get a hold of 100mg tablets

With what I had in the cupboard and what the pharmacy had, we have around 20 days worth of tablets left

Did the pharmacy give or have any idea when the shortage would be resolved?

They had no idea. They said phone next week and hopefully this 20 day buffer will be enough to get a hold of more meds

yea med shortages suck =(
i have to use alternatives too for my leponex. i am on generic clozapine now because the leponex is out for a month.

this is why I keep a stock of 2-3 months. Otherwise, in my country, there can be a shortage anytime.

Same in Leuven. They had to make my 15 mg clozapine preparation from 100 mg pills since the 25 mg pills were out of stock.

Perhaps this is an ignorant question, but why are there med shortages in the first place?

I hope they can fill it in time. I’d be nervous if I were told my meds couldn’t be filled.

Truth is I have no clue. I am in the uk so brexit may be involved. I read some folks with epilepsy can’t get their meds. Is quite, quite scary

I keep an extra stock of meds just in case

Something to consider @el_Jimbobbio

I hope you get your meds soon

You could ask your doctor to get a extra perscription in case things like this happen. I have a 3 month reserve that I cycle when I bring in a new perscription so nothing goes out of date.
