Ask if he’s into HP Lovecraft, and if he is give him the little Cthulhu. But that is broaching professionalism if he accepts.
My mom used to crochet “wall hangings”. Flat, oval, square or just random shaped, flat designs and patterns of different colored yarn. And then we would hang them on our walls like a painting or photograph.
She got so good that a small store offered to sell them in their store. And she gave them to friends if they liked them.
I have to say though that was in the early seventies when stuff like that was still popular with hippies and ex-hippies.
Maybe your therapist would like something like that to hang on his wall in his house or apartment or whatever car he’s living in?

If you know where he went to school you might crochet him his school’s logo. Getting his degree might have been important to him. I know it was for me!
