Once my dog caught a possum.
It was, of course, playing possum.
He carried it very lightly in his mouth all the way up to the door so we could see it.
Everyone freaked out.
Finally the dog dropped it, but we thought it was dead.
We took the dog in, started to dig a hole to bury the poor possum,
Then the possum got up, shook it off and ran off.
We were so relieved.
It was pretty awesome.
