I just went out on the front porch to vape. It’s raining a bit and thundering.
I saw TWO possums running around out there. Must be trying to escape the rain or something.
Tripped me out a bit because one of them ran really close to me.
It’s weird, cause like a week ago I scared my mom with a fake possum. I guess its payback.
I should totally start carrying my phone around. I miss so many picture opportunities because I dont have it with me.
Man, i remember possums in Florida! They are some mean sums-a-ditches!
I dont think these two were full grown. They looked pretty small. Brazen little sucker to get that close to me, though.
Have you ever seen the teeth on those critters up close? They make my dog look like a suckling pig.

I think my grandpa used to catch possums down in the Louisiana bayous for his family and eat them. He always said how the tails were best deep-fried. I honestly don’t know if he was joking or not. They’re like hairless rats, but meaner. I was always scared of them, especially when you get too close and they hiss at you! I’m glad there’s no possums in Alaska, just bears!
YOu know what? I thought oppossums and possums were the same thing. The hairless thing threw me off. I think mine were opposums, not possums.

Still…the opossum looks much meaner. The possum on the right looks a little inebriated to me.
I guess Im not the only one that was confused, though. We used to have a member that would make “possum” threads. Looks like all the pictures posted were opposums.
We like possums here in Maine, they eat ticks and are marsupials they don’t carry rabies.
